HOW I INTEND TO USE CONSULTING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN NIGERIA

While growing up, I often heard that the” greatest problem in Nigeria and indeed all black Nations is that of leadership” and ever since I had resolved in my mind to choose a career path that will help in building the leadership capacity of my dear country. I discovered also that the opportunity to actualize my dreams can be found in consulting where you have the opportunity of being a leader’s leader.

I intend to make a difference in Nigeria via consulting by providing creative and innovative solutions for people and organisations, as they face unprecedented challenges, fierce intra-industry competition, overwhelming governmental policies and regulations, technological advancements, multicultural diversity in the workforce, customer expectations and retention, and micro and macro economic unpredictability; this I intend to do using a blend of coaching, workshops, Role Plays etc. By so doing I would have provided them with information and advice which leads to real and lasting solution of a problem.

I will constantly think, analyze, brainstorm, cajole and challenge good organizations to become even better by adopting new ideas. I also intend to tread the path of great consultants by being able to step into ambiguous, sometimes hostile situations and sense what changes need to be made, driven by ideas and a strong desire to have a positive impact on clients.

By doing all these I would have increased my bandwidth and shifted my paradigm, which would have made me a better person, I also believe that “Repetition is the mother of skills” as I do these repeatedly I become exceptionally good and skillful at my work.

STRETCHED BEYOND LIMITS?

It's possible you have often heard that " a rubber band comes into its full potential when stretched" that's been my story in the last 40 days, it was so bad that I couldnt even post an article on my blog since then.
During this period, the thoughts of quitting had flashed through my mind a million times and more, I had sincerely felt like leaving the uncertain for the certain, even though I know that the future lies in the "uncertain"; I had been stretched beyond limits.
Even though it looked like the world would come to an abrupt end , but, I found solace. I took solace in the word of God, and in the word of wise men, one of such men is Obafemi Awolowo.
He said " blessed be sorrows, blessed be hardships and trials, for all these make a man" I have found this to be true in many respect, because every title must be defended and woe to you if you are not strong enough on the day of the battle (sounds strange?).
Thank God, am back blogging, hope to give you some gists and encouragement about my experiences in due time. On a lighter note I saw the blog of Donald Duke, Governor of Cross River state and was very impressed, it shows that blogging is fast becoming accepted in Nigeria, your Excellency Sir, keep Blogging!

THAT INNER DRIVE

Today happens to be one of those days when motivation is on the low side, nothing on the external seem to motivate and life looks like an awful song. But long ago, I have made adequate preparations for days like today, I have come to know over time and through experience that a man's life does not consist of the things he posseses externally.
I know without doubt that "what lies behind us and before us are tiny matters compared with what lies inside of us" So, anytime am confronted with such feelings as I feel today, I just remind myself of the person that I am. It's not about a very fat bank account, it's not about anything on the external; without doubt I know that I am more than it appears presently. I might just be getting by now, but, in the real sense of it greatness shall soon pay me obeisance.
That belief that keeps me going in moments like this is what I have called that inner drive, it's the 6th sense that makes me see the invisible and feel the intangible, it gives life to my belief and increases the life span of my patience, while I hope for the fulfilment of my loftiest dream.

What is the stature of your dreams? conclusion

In the course of my journey on this checkered pavement of mortality, I have come to discover that there exists a very strong reason why there is so much inequality amongst men- The size of their dreams. The few days I stayed back at home afforded me a rare but rich opportunity to think, meditate and ponder on this subject matter again.
A man that will not exercise his imaginative muscles, is a man thet will not go too far, all good things of life exist because good men saw well ahead of time and brought them into being. In my circle, it is a common saying that a future you can not picture, you can not feature.
This is an attempt to nudge you to dream again, your future lies in the pictures you paint in your heart today. While am in the support of the fact that you dream, another thing that determines how far you go is the stature of your dreams. Give wings to your dream- No holds barred! dream wild, for it was wild that metals can fly and defer gravitational pull, but, Orville and Wilbur dreamt, thank God, Edison, Ford, Faraday et.al were wild enough in their dreams.
Civilizatiion is hinged upon the wild dreams of men, so, look beyond the Ozone of the natural, see far and well enough, for then will you discover the power to turn dreams into realities.
I see you making it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aloha!
